Ignacio Navarro before joining the Nirvana Blue Yucatan family served as Chef at some of the world's most prestigious luxury hotel groups. Included in this exquisite line-up, are the “Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group” in their New York and Riviera Maya properties as well as with the “Rosewood Hotels and Resorts” in their Rosewood Crescent Court in Dallas and Rosewood Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen properties. Within these organizations he flourished in the positions of Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
In his 20 years of cooking experience, Ignacio has not only managed the aforementioned million-dollar culinary operations but he has carried his cooking, leadership and organizational skills into small boutique hotels in such amazing destinations as The Yemaya Hotel in Little Corn Island in the Nicaraguan Caribbean and in the Hotel Esencia in Playa Xpu-Ha in the Riviera Maya, both recognized members of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
During his illustrious journey, Ignacio has maintained the highest level of service standards without losing site of his heartfelt passion for pleasing "his" guests.
Chef "Nacho", as his peers and friends in the kitchen affectionately refer to him, has additional interests in areas as diverse as underwater photography and horticulture, as in the production of Micro Greens and gardens of aromatic herbs. Additionally, in Nacho’s past he served as a volunteer Firefighter and Rescue Operator in his native Chile for several years dealing with emergencies and catastrophes. All of these influences have formed him in to an amazing character with a contagious smile that warms the soul.
Nacho now finds himself in the peace and serenity of Nirvana Blue Yucatan, surrounded by the beautiful pure nature that is this fantastic biosphere reserve.
Nacho resides in the locality of Rio Lagartos along with his two four legged companions Pita and Tala. He speaks fluent English, French and Spanish and is now in the process of discovering Mayan. It is here in this perfect place we call Nirvana Blue Yucatan that you too can melt into and share in the experience with him.
